Case of mumps confirmed in the center near the UN

The Newman Center in St. John Paul II, near the University of Nebraska Omaha, stated that a resident at the facility was diagnosed with mumps. In a press release on Friday afternoon, the center stated that it is taking precautions to minimize the spread. The Newman Center said it had reached all the colleges and universities represented in its community to assist students, faculty and staff with questions or concerns. The center is home to 131 students attending higher education institutions throughout the area and is reaching out to these institutions to minimize any other exposure. The center said that it encourages all students and visitors to practice good hygiene, limit physical contact and cover coughs and sneezes.
