Change in the board of the civil service insurance

January 11, 2022 – Stefan Mikula is the new Vice President of the Austrian Civil Service Insurance. He succeeds Werner Summer, who has retired.

Stefan Mikula is a new member of the two-person board of the Austrian civil service insurance VaGas the company announced on Monday.

The department of the new deputy chairman of the board includes the areas of finance and operations as well as the information security department.

Chief Executive Officer Josef Trawöger is responsible for compliance and risk management, the actuarial function and sales and human relations.

Career in the ÖBV

Mikula was born in 1983 in Neudorf in Burgenland. He completed his studies in technical mathematics with a major in finance and actuarial mathematics at the Vienna University of Technology.

Mikula already worked for the ÖBV during his studies. Subsequently, he held various functions at the insurer.

From 2015 to 2020 he was the deputy of the “actuarial function”, in 2017 he became the responsible actuary and took over the management of the actuarial department.

Predecessor Summer is retiring

His predecessor at board level, Werner Summer, left the ÖBV after 29 years of work for the same on January 1, 2022, in order to retire.

Summer joined the Austrian Civil Service Insurance Company in 1992 after working at the Eisenstadt tax office.

From accounting employee he advanced to its head. In 2009 the power of attorney was granted, and in 2015 he joined the board of directors (VersicherungsJournal 23.4.2015).
