“Our little Claire is more or less going out this season,” Erica says Veronica Magazine. The inspectorate of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment has intervened and said that the 3-year-old may ‘only come on TV five times a year’. “Very unfortunate, also for the viewers”, says her grandmother. “Claire was always just bobbing along, but the inspection pretends she’s hard at work.”
It makes the recordings a lot more difficult. “If we are now playing and Claire is somewhere where we need to be, she has to be out of the picture,” Erica explains. The family then gives her her iPad so she can enjoy herself. The Meilandjes will not give up. “The producer is working with a lawyer to see if we can do something about it, because it is not workable,” said Erica. “She can probably still be seen in the first three episodes. But then there were two ladies from the inspection …”
