BEIJING, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) – China’s tablet shipments reached about 6.9 million units during the third quarter of this year, up 21.7 percent year-on-year, according to a report by the industry.
The rise marks the highest rate of growth since 2014, according to a report published by International Data Corporation, a global market intelligence firm.
The word “out of stock” was a well received response from retailers during the third quarter, in light of the huge growth in online education and the strong demand for entertainment devices in the global market during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chinese tech giant Huawei continues to lead the market with a 37.7 percent share. It delivered 2.6 million units in the mentioned period.
Apple ranked second with 2.59 million shipments, followed by Lenovo and Microsoft, which posted shipments of 320,000 and 170,000 units, respectively, according to the report.
