Jake Clifford has landed a late field goal for North Queensland to upset the Sydney Roosters 15-12 in Gosford on Sunday afternoon in Cowboys forward Gavin Cooper's 300th NRL game.
Lucky as the Cowboys halfback nailed the match-winning point in the venture over the Roosters at Centraj Coast Stadium.
Scores were locked at 12-12 minutes in front of Clifford's heroics.
Clifford had missed the Cowboys while Cooper Cronk and Luke Keary failed to nab one-pointer for the Roosters.
The Cowboys then added a penalty goal after the full-time siren, also off the boot of Clifford, to complete the scoring.
The ideal game for North Queensland to mark the 300th game of Cooper.
After taking a 6-0 lead into the half-time, the Cowboys were trailing 12-6 with 11 minutes remaining. John Asiata then scored the tense finish.
Earlier, Clifford scored the first half of the show.
Roosters captain Jake Friend marked his return from injury with 51st-minute try which leveled the scores before Brett Morris gave the premieres the lead eight minutes later.
