Conor McGregor, the Irish star of MMA, mixed martial arts, was arrested in Corsica on suspicion of attempted sexual assault and for sexual exhibition, confirmed the Bastia prosecution.
“Following a complaint filed on September 10, denouncing events that could be classified as attempted sexual assault and sexual exhibition, Conor Anthony Mac Gregor has been the subject of a hearing before the gendarmerie services, as a detainee,” the prosecution wrote in a statement transmitted to AFP.
No further details were provided on the events that led to the arrest.
Conor McGregor, 32, had announced his sports retirement in June, after having already announced it on two other occasions, in 2016 and 2019. But on those two occasions he then backtracked on his plans.
