For the 426 students of the Elementary school and the Viennese Middle school (WMS) of the Catholic School campus Antonigasse in Währing should Monday morning after weeks of time off actually start school again. At the entrance, however, was the end of some of them, others never came.
Because of a suspected Corona case in the teaching staff, all students have to stay at home. Parents partly made their anger clear on social media.
The reason for the temporary ban is a teacher who had symptoms of corona over the weekend, explains Reinhard Hallwirth from the Archdiocese School Foundation Vienna. The pedagogue has the directorate Monday morning informed. He also had himself tested for Corona on Monday at 8 a.m. The result is still pending.
Contact with other teachers
As the teacher had attended a teacher conference last Friday, the school was suspended as a precaution. The educators who were in contact with the teacher should not meet their students.
However, the short-term decision was not appreciated by all parents. So did PR consultant Christina Aumayr about Twitter express their displeasure.
