Corona sufferers: Chancellor fears shortages in hospitals soon – Coronavirus Vienna –

Intensive care in Austria could already be overloaded in mid-April due to the increasing number of corona cases.

Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) fears that bottlenecks could occur at the hospitals in around two weeks.

In mid-April, you could be in a situation where intensive care medicine is overwhelmed, the head of government said at his press conference.

As of March 27, 1,071 intensive care beds were available in Austria. 908 of the 2,500 ventilators were still available.
