The airports in the Aena network closed the month of September with 5,457,083 passengers, 79.9% less than in the same month last year, registering 109,076 aircraft movements, 50.9% less, and 71,369 tons of goods, 23.1% less. Borders and mobility with third countries still have restrictions to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

He Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport registered in September the highest number of passengers on the network with 985,077, which represents a decrease of 82.3% compared to the same month of 2019. It is followed by the Airport Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, with 844,414 (83.5% less); Palma de Mallorca, with 513,086 (-86.4%); Malaga-Costa del Sol, with 366,312 (-81.9%); Gran Canaria, with 295,825 (-70.0%); Tenerife North City of La Laguna, with 277,608 (-46.3%); and Ibiza, with 275,016 (-76.0%).

The airports that mainly had non-commercial activity and that accounted for a greater number of movements in September were Madrid-Four Winds, with 5,380 operations (5.7%); Sabadell, with 4,407 (-1.5%); Y Jerez, with 4,326 (-9.6%).

The four airports with the highest freight traffic they were that of Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, with 31,744 tons (33.5% less); Zaragoza, 18,796 tons (+ 13.2%); Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, with 9,856 (-38.1%), and Vitoria, with 5,774 tons (+ 11%).
