The Hungarian epidemic has found 1,219 new infections in the last 24 hours, the seven-day moving average has already fallen below 2,000 with the new data, and the third wave of epidemics continues to decline. However, epidemiological precautions should continue to be adhered to, as the effects of gradual opening and the consequent increase in the number of contacts are not yet seen in these figures.
13,754 tests were performed, which is usually a lower number due to the weekend, with a positive test rate of almost 9 percent. Overall, we can see a declining trend in the positivity of the tests.
The death toll from the coronavirus disease is still high, but has already begun to decline: 106 people lost their lives in the disease the past day. The seven-day moving average fell to close to 150.
The pressure on the health care system is falling: the number of hospital admissions was 4,872, down 159, and 572 in need of ventilation.
In the last 24 hours, 8945 first and 69 755 second vaccinations were given. At the same time, 41.7 percent of the population had already received at least their first vaccination, and nearly 21.3 percent had received their second.
In terms of regional data, the number of new cases has increased in Veszprém, Baranya and Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok counties in the last week.
