10 days after the peak of the coronavirus pandemic – which was registered on May 8 – Hugo López-Gatell Ramírez, Undersecretary for Prevention and Health Promotion, stated that “we are at the moment of maximum transmission of the SARS-CoV virus -2”.
So he urged the population living in high-contagion areas to stay home and added that it is important for citizens to be aware that on June 1 – when the National Day of Healthy Distance is over – they will not return normality and mobility will depend on the traffic light.
“Do not think citizenship – please let this be recorded – do not think citizenship that on June 1 we return to normal, it will not be like that.
“The way it is going to happen is that in each state, in each state, in advance of June 1, we will present the state that guards the Covid epidemic, in each of the 32 states and will be represented by a traffic light .
“A traffic light of risk, which considers various variables that we have already explained, so that the population will be able to know, in the entity that resides, what is the epidemic condition of Covid.
“And derived from it, there will be indications to know if public activities and work activities are opened in your federal entity or not,” he explained.
VALLEY OF MEXICO WITH GREATEST CONCENTRATION OF CASES AND DEATHS

There are two thousand 414 new cases, with which the accumulated amounted to 51 thousand 633 confirmed, of which, 11 thousand 300 are active cases that are located, mainly in Mexico City, State of Mexico and Tabasco.
So far in the pandemic, the Valley of Mexico is the area that registered the highest number of cases: 14,556 are in the country’s capital and 8,556 in the state of Mexico.
According to the RED IRAG (Serious Acute Respiratory Infection), the hospital occupancy at the national level in general beds is 39 percent, that is, there are 8,862 occupied beds and 13,770 available.
However, Mexico City registered 77 percent occupancy, followed by the State of Mexico with 59 percent and Baja California with 54 percent.
In fan beds, the average occupancy in the country is 32 percent, in contrast in the country’s capital it is 66 percent. In second place is Baja California with 56 percent and then the State of Mexico, with 55 percent.
From April 24 to May 17, the number of Covid-19 hospitals increased to 739, compared to 645 with which pandemic care began.
In the same stage, the number of general beds increased to 22,600, after having started with 14,500 beds.
On the contrary, with respect to the number of beds with a fan, the number decreased. On April 24 there were 6,900 and there are currently a total of 6,200 beds.
