COVID-19: More than 55 million 260 thousand doses of the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine have been administered – Ministry of Health

The Ministry of Health reports that with a cut-off date of yesterday, Sunday, May 22, according to data from the Department of Statistics and Health Information, 55,260,348 doses of the vaccine against COVID-19 have been administered in the country.

Regarding the target population of 15,200,840 people, which considers people aged 18 and over, 13,901,095 first doses, 13,683,304 second doses, and 574,651 single doses have been applied.

Of this segment of the population, 95.23% (14,475,746) have received a single and first dose, and 93.80% (14,257,955) have completed their vaccination schedule against SARS-CoV-2, with a single and second dose.

During the day yesterday, Sunday, May 22, of the target group of 18 years and over, 2,301 people were immunized, of which 5 were registered with the first dose, 4 with the second dose, 114 with the booster dose and 2,178 with the fourth dose.

Regarding the reinforcement doses applied in the population over 3 years of age in the country, a total of 20,385,360 is reached, considering reinforcement doses and fourth doses. Yesterday, 2,604 doses were administered, of which 2,292 correspond to people aged 18 and over, and 312 between 3 and 17 years.

Regarding the vaccination of children and adolescents between 3 and 17 years of age, which includes a total of 3,771,960 people, 8,216,553 doses of vaccines have been administered in the country, where 92.00% of the population is vaccinated with the first dose and 86.05% with the second dose. Meanwhile, in the school group, between 6 and 11 years old, 3,361,286 administered vaccines are recorded.
