Even if the number of sick people in the Linz-Land district rose slightly to eight and the number of those in quarantine across Upper Austria to 248, “no new cluster or hotspot was discernible,” said the crisis team.
New cases of Covid 19 were reported in the center for care and nursing in Traun (district Linz-Land). Two employees are positive. The contact person management had been initiated, the testing of all residents was also initiated, the crisis team informed. A total of six residents and eight employees in seven old people’s and nursing homes are currently affected by the corona virus.
Infections have also been reported to the crisis team from among the harvest helpers flown to Austria. On Monday two planes with around 390 workers from the Ukraine landed in Linz, three of them tested positive. In one plane a couple who was supposed to work in a Tyrolean company were affected, in the other a person who was assigned to an Upper Austrian company, said the Association of Fruit and Vegetable Producers Upper Austria, who had organized the flights. The crisis team also announced that 20 harvest workers were “officially segregated”.
