Two men were arrested Sunday morning by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) for trying to deliver a drone package containing drugs to the federal penitentiary in Cowansville, in Montérégie.
A drone was seen near the penitentiary by the police at around 1:30 a.m., said the SQ.
During the search operation to try to find the object, the police arrested two men in their twenties who were in a vehicle parked nearby.
The drone was eventually located and a package was seized with the help of a dog handler. The 26 and 28-year-old suspects were charged after being questioned by police. They face justice for drug trafficking, conspiracy and breach of probation.
