Joyner Lucas paid tribute to Will Smith with his song “Will” earlier this year, and now he has none other than Big Willie for the remix.
After Joyner Lucas shared the video for the ADHD single, Will personally posted a clip to his Instagram to say how much he appreciated the tribute.
He was clearly impressed with the song, and now fans are eating up his latest return to the world of rap.
“They must have forgotten that I’m really busy / They must have forgotten who invented ‘Get Jiggy’,” Will criticizes the remix. “Before sales aired / Long before all iTunes and fans had to get CDs yet / Sixty million records sold, it was on fire, I don’t even need a grill / I did it all without bad words, I you don’t have to curse it to be real. “
It was the first time they had spoken to each other, and Will’s son Jaden joined the conversation as well. Lucas explained that Will Smith was his “idol” when he grew up, especially since he grew up watching all his movies and listening to his music in the 90s. “It was deeply humiliating, man, and I appreciate the honor,” Will added. “I was really touched by that, buddy.”
