The belgian Lotto team, which announced on Wednesday the names of eight selected, will be first focused on stage wins in the upcoming Tour de France, mainly with the sprinter australian Caleb Ewan.
“The stage wins remain the first objective, the quest of the green jersey should not lead us astray“said John Lelangue, director of training, formalizing the selection.
“We can’t wait until August to reveal the selectionadded the belgian leader. We have eight names on paper, there are still two in reserve. We will prepare the Tour with this team, this bubble.”
Ewan, who has won three times in the past year in the sprints of the tour, will be one of the four riders of the group as at least one success. With the Belgian Philippe Gilbert, who will play his tenth Tour, and Thomas De Gendt, as well as German John Degenkolb.
The Belgian Steff Cras (24 years old), which has a participation in the Vuelta to his credit, will be the only neophyte of the Tour.
