Thanks to the draw, the Northerners secured the first place in the group. Both teams were already guaranteed to advance to the elite part of the qualification before the match thanks to their victories over Kazakhstan and Northern Ireland.

Given a choice of coach Holoubek sent Breum into the lead five minutes after the change of sides, Breum equalized in the 67th minute.

The elite qualifying phase will be played in the spring. Only the winners of seven groups will pass to the final tournament, which will be hosted by Slovakia next year. Slovaks as organizers have a certain participation.
