Czech T-Mobile lost customers and earned over 28 billion crowns last year

In 2020, the Czech branch of the mobile operator T-Mobile increased by 1.6 percent year-on-year to CZK 28.358 billion. EBITDA fell by 1.2 percent to 11.365 billion. Gross operating margin was 40 percent, investments reached 4.2 billion crowns.

T-Mobile’s customers are gradually declining prepaid card customers, their number fell by seven percent last year. On the contrary, the fixed internet and IP TV segments are growing decently. The operator’s services are used by 6.178 million customers and their number has decreased from 6.265 million compared to 2019. T-Mobile is still the domestic number one.

“The volume of mobile data (excluding FWA services) increased by 66% year-on-year to more than 166,000 TB. Data traffic, including FWA services (Fixed Internet over the air, Fixed Internet in a socket, Fixed Internet without wire) reached almost 451 thousand TB (+ 43.6% compared to 2019). The number of minutes called increased by 12.5% ​​to more than 13 billion minutes, customers sent almost 5.4 billion (+ 18.9%) text messages, ” introduces T-Mobile.

Every year, T-Mobile sends its taxable profit to the parent company Deutsche Telekom in Germany. In 2019, it was 5.596 billion crowns.
