Employee Digital Foundry Alex Battaglia (Alex Battaglia) on the YouTube channel of publication and on the website Eurogamer has published a technical analysis of the collection of Command & Conquer Remastered Collection.
Recall that Command & Conquer Remastered Collection promised the ability to switch between old and new graphics, support for 4K resolution, a redesigned music and better quality videos.
With modernizing the visual component, the developers pulled it off: is saved the spirit and aesthetics of the original, but added the image definition, and animations — smooth.
At the same time the quality of in-game commercials have improved with the help of artificial intelligence. The system was not always effective: the characters look good up close, while distant plans lack detail.
Some improvements graphic designers are not limited to: the game has the ability to put units in queue for production, hotkeys for all occasions and other useful functions, and support of 120 fps.
“Command & Conquer Remastered — one of the best attempts of modernizing the classics that I’ve seen. [Ремастер] faithful to the original where it matters — in the gameplay and audiovisual design, but adds clarity and convenience to make the game feel modern”— said Battaglia.
Command & Conquer Remastered Collection was released on 5 June exclusively on the PC (Steam, Origin). Includes the original strategy and Command & Conquer: Red Alert, and three additions to it. At the start of the Steam collection has attracted 42 million players.
