Borussia Dortmund 4-0 Eintracht Frankfurt (1-0)
Borussian won 4-0 Dortmund won against Eintracht Frankfurt. The Dortmund team dominated the game from the start. In the 11th minute Frankfurt was lucky when Raphael Guerreiro hit the right outpost after a free kick over the Frankfurt Wall. It was not until ten minutes later that the visiting team’s first offensive action came in front of the Dortmund goal with a wide cross from Filip Kostic, but it did not find his teammates.
In the 33rd minute Lukasz Piszczek scored 1-0 for Dortmund. Achraf Hakimi prepared it with a pass from the sixteenth to the rushing defender, who threw the ball into the goal with a flat shot. Shortly before the break, Hakimi shot a ball just over the Frankfurt goal, at half time it was 1-0.
There was a lot more action in the second half, also because the Frankfurt team switched to a more offensive style after the deficit. However, this was particularly useful for Dortmund: In the 49th minute Jadon Sancho scored 2-0 after a long pass from Axel Witsel. Shortly thereafter, young star Erling Haaland scored 3-0 and thus his eighth goal in the fifth game at Dortmund. Again it was Hakimi who prepared the goal by changing the pass with Sancho.
A quarter of an hour before the end of the game there was still no advance from Frankfurt into the Dortmund penalty area. Raphael Guerreiro went one better and scored 4-0 for Borussia (74th) when the ball landed on him after a defensive action by Frankfurt defender Martin Hinteregger. That was the end of the game.
