Dubai Airport: where 20 Airbus A380 dock at the same time

There is no other place in the world where so many aircraft take off and land from the Airbus A380, such as Dubai International Airport – DXB for short. The Emirates airline, which flies from Germany via Munich, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf and from Hamburg with the double-decker aircraft to its hub in the United Arab Emirates, opened in 2013 the Concourse A, an airport superlative.

From Dubai to Auckland: Aboard the longest scheduled flight in the world

This extension adds capacity to Terminal 3 and is the world's first passenger terminal specifically designed for the Airbus A380 widebody aircraft. The special feature: Passengers who have booked First or Business Class, go from the upper deck of the machines directly to their lounge level, each of which has its own floor.

Emirates now has 112 A380 aircraft in operation. Another eleven copies of the largest commercial aircraft in the world have been ordered. “The fleet will stabilize at around 115,” says Emirates President Tim Clark told the trade magazine “Flightgolbal”.

Emirates, together with its twin-engine Boeing 777 jets, has a total fleet of 268 widebody aircraft and 158 aircraft in 85 countries on six continents.
