Dutch consumers were negative about the economic outlook in April. During the month, confidence turned out to have fallen even further than at the beginning of April, according to an additional survey by Statistics Netherlands (CBS) published on Monday.
Normally, the statistical office largely measures sentiment in the first half of the month, but an additional measurement has now been made in connection with the coronavirus.
Statistics Netherlands previously reported that the consumer confidence indicator had never fallen as sharply as in the period from March to April. “The additional measurement in the second half of April shows a further decline to. This is mainly due to a further deteriorated opinion on the economic climate.”
Even if the consumer sees it more gloomy economically, the so-called willingness to buy does not decrease accordingly.
