PSV will approach the preparation for the next season differently than in previous years. The club from Eindhoven exchanges the familiar Verbier in Switzerland for a training camp in Marienfeld, Germany.
That reports it Eindhoven Daily. The new PSV coach Roger Schmidt preferred to go to training camp in Germany, because he knows the location near Bielefeld, which is renowned in professional football. He also trained there with his old clubs Bayer Leverkusen and Beijing Guoan. PSV settles in the Hotel-Resicence ‘Klosterpforte’. Ajax also knows the location well: the Amsterdammers already went to ‘Klosterpforte’ in 2018.
The biggest advantage of the new location in Germany is the travel distance. The previous years PSV had spent two days traveling, while the distance from Eindhoven is now about 250 kilometers. PSV wants to play two exhibition games during the training camp in Germany, but opponents have not yet found the club.
It is highly uncertain whether PSV will move to Southern Europe later in the season. The club management wants to take financial risks in this period full of uncertainty. PSV plans to play six or seven exhibition games in the run-up to the new season.
