Roger Schmidt first wants to see the returning PSV mercenaries in action before making a decision about their future. The German coach of the Eindhoven team finds it important that he sees players like Dante Rigo and Joël Piroe play.
Sparta would like to rent those two players for another season, but it Eindhoven Daily writes that the Rotterdammers have to wait their turn. Schmidt wants to see with his own eyes what Rigo and Piroe can bring during the first training sessions. The same goes for players like Armando Obispo, Mauro Júnior, Hidde Jurjus and Maxi Romero. They also return to Eindhoven.
Not all players who were let out last season get a chance from Schmidt. Derrick Luckassen is immediately rented out to Anderlecht again and keeper Luuk Koopmans had already agreed that he would definitely leave for ADO Den Haag after this season. The German coach wants to train with a selection of 26 players next week.
In terms of incoming transfers, PSV bets on a central defender, a left back and a midfielder. Alireza Jahanbakhsh is still on an Eindhoven list, but business can only be done with it if something changes to the current vanguard of PSV. Marco van Ginkel would be in the picture to fill the vacancy in midfield.
