The fans will return to the stands. Minister Speranza: “Clarify the protocols that allow events to be carried out safely”. Gravina satisfied: “Excellent result”
Yes to the European Championship with the public, “availability” in the presence of spectators for the four matches of the continental review that will be played at the Olympic stadium in Rome (it will start with Italy-Turkey on 11 June, then Italy-Switzerland on 16 June, Italy-Wales on 20, and a quarter-final on 3 July). The FIGC president Gabriele Gravina recently received a letter from the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza with his assent, which will now be immediately turned over to UEFA. In fact, the European Football Association wanted a green light for at least 25% of the capacity. In Speranza’s e-mail it is stated that now it will be up to the CTS “to clarify the protocols that allow the events to be carried out safely”. Therefore, the number of spectators is not indicated as well as the ways in which spectators will be able to access (any swab test or vaccination already carried out).
Given the times and also the situation in other countries, see the uncertainty of Germany with respect to the situation in Munich and Ireland for Dublin, the signal given by Speranza still represents an important turning point to protect the Italian part of the European Championship. For this, Gravina shows all his satisfaction: “The willingness acquired by the Government is an excellent result that is good for Italian football. In such a complex moment, however, the desire to see the Italian presence confirmed at this great event was clearly expressed, giving confidence to the FIGC. We will collaborate synergistically with Undersecretary Valentina Vezzali who is accompanying us on this path. We have been sent a signal with a strong perspective on the recovery that we will promptly transfer to Uefa ”.
