Based on an investigation by Suara.com, quoted on Sunday (29/1/2023), the narrative of the judge rejecting Ferdy Sambo’s plea and sentencing him to death is not true.
In fact, the contents of the video do not explain the judge’s decision to reject Ferdy Sambo’s plea.
The video also does not show the judge handing down the death sentence against Sambo.
On the other hand, the narration that is read in the video is taken from an article entitled “Chances of Ferdy Sambo Sentenced to Death, Watch!” from JPNN.com on January 23, 2023.
The contents of this article discuss the opinion of a criminal law expert, Abdul Fickar Hadjar.
He explained about the prediction of the sentence for the former Head of the Propam Division.
According to him, there is a possibility that the judge will hand down the maximum penalty in the form of the death penalty against Sambo.
However, Abdul explained that the sentence against the defendant in the murder of Brigadier J was the judge’s authority.
In addition, the final follow-up trial that Ferdy Sambo underwent had the agenda of reading the memorandum of defense, not sentencing.
Sambo read the Pleidoi after the public prosecutor (JPU) demanded that he be given a life sentence in the previous trial.
From the explanation above, the narrative that Ferdy Sambo was sentenced to death after reading the defense plea was a hoax.
The narrative is included in the category of misleading content or misleading content.
