FC Utrecht contracts ‘prodigy’: “A striker with a lot of power and speed”

FC Utrecht has added a new striker to the selection with Moussa Sylla. The twenty-year-old Frenchman comes over from AS Monaco and will sign in the Dom City for three seasons, with an option for another season.

Sylla had played in the youth of Monaco since 2014, but a breakthrough in the first team was not in the cards for him. Utrecht now attracts him transfer-free. ‘Welcome to FC Utrecht, child prodigy!’, The club writes.

Technical director Jordy Zuidam of Utrecht is happy that Moussa has signed. “Moussa is one of the greatest attacking talents in France. It makes us proud that he has chosen FC Utrecht at this stage of his career. Moussa is certainly as ambitious as we are”, he says on the Utrecht club site.

“With Moussa we get a striker with a lot of power and speed. He plays with a lot of energy and can create opportunities out of nowhere. A player with a lot of potential”, Moussa says.

Silla made his Ligue 1 debut for Monaco two years ago. He also played six games in the Champions League. Silla also competed in the Coupe de France, the Coupe de la Ligue and with Monaco U19 in the UEFA Youth League.
