No NPL2 team had ever reached the FFA Cup quarter-finals until Victoria's Zebras Moreland beat the Magpies Crusaders in Round of 16.
But the Brisbane Strikers managed to beat the Victorian on a 3-2 visit in front of 1,915 fans at Perry Park, establishing a massive semi-final date with Melbourne City, a league-rich guy.

NPL KEEPER PLAYED THROUGH THE DISPLACED SHOULDER
The Strikers made a name for themselves in this QLD NPL season with their power in front of the goal, and they were at their best clinical in the first half.
Fraser Hills opened the scoring after 27 minutes on a clear cut from Ryan Palmer, before Palmer finished a counter-attack flash just before the break – this time assisted by Hills.
The loser Zebre looked out of the break, but reacted well in the second mandate, scoring in the 55th minute with Thomas Barforosh.
The Strikers reacted almost immediately with Ryan Palmer who completed his pair just two minutes later and restored a two-goal lead to 3-1.
Momentum returned to the Zebras late in the piece while Jakob Williams scored the 82nd minute to make it 3-2.
But the home team continued to book an inaugural appearance in the last four.
On Wednesday night's other match, Western Sydney Wanderers traveled to the A-League's city of Melbourne, a remarkable match in the third quarter-final between the two.
But a mistake by the Wanderers goalkeeper Daniel Lopar brought them to the back foot in the first half and a double for Craig Noone for the City plus a third for Socceroo Jamie Maclaren scored a 3-0 win for the hosts.
The semi-final draw was completed immediately after the quarter-finals ended. The Brisbane Strikers were attracted to the host of the Melbourne City, while the Central Coast Mariners will host the reigning champions Adelaide United.
