The Tunisian Esperance Club announced sanctions imposed by the African Football Confederation (CA) for the uprisings that took place before the Tunisian team's Champions League match against Al-Ahly in the final leg of the African Champions League final .
Espérance was punished for playing two games without an audience due to "the attack on Al Ahly before the final and the start of the story," the club announced on its official website.
Esperance will face the Platinum Stars and the Orlando Pirates at home with free stands due to the sanction of the African Union.
Prior to the Esperance final against Ahli, Hisham Mohamed, a red midfielder, was struck in the head by a stone throw on the Al Ahly bus by some Esperance fans.
The final of Africa ended with the victory of Esperance of Tunisia at the expense of Ahli. The Red Genies triumphed 3-1 and lost 3-0.
Esperance of Tunisia started its African group this year with a draw against Houria Guinean in Group B of the African championship.
Al-Ahli also won the victory against Vita Club in the opening of his career in African groups.
