Fitness tracker notifications should be automatically turned off, says the charitable organization of eating disorders


FThe push notifications of itness tracker should be automatically disabled, as one charity said, as it warned that the devices could be "highly dangerous" for people with eating disorders.

Beat said that the most famous smart watches and trackers provided constant indications to hit the movements and calorie-burning goals were "tightening" of the conditions in which patients used exercise as a form of calorie control.

The request for charity was supported by one of the leading specialists in the NHS's eating disorder, who claimed to see patients who have become "almost dependent" on the goals and objectives of the fitness tracker.
