– Florida Governor Ron DeSantis hinted earlier this week that there could be regular sporting events in his state from early June or July. In addition to baseball and UFC, DeSantis also explicitly mentioned World Wrestling Entertainment. However, WWE and AEW might already be able to let some fans back into the WWE Performance Center in Orlando or Daily’s Place in Jacksonville with their next tapings, as Phase 1 of DeSantis ’plan for easing in the state of Florida will come into effect on Monday. One point here is that major sporting events may take place again with strict social distancing requirements (e.g. compliance with the minimum distance of approx. 3 meters required in the USA) and with a maximum hall capacity of 25%. This could mean that WWE and AEW could fill the spaces in the WWE Performance Center and in Daily’s Place again by 25%. The next WWE tapings in the WWE Performance Center are scheduled for May 11, while AEW will record the next shows as early as Wednesday. At this point, however, it should be expressly mentioned once again that neither WWE nor AEW have so far commented on whether this option will also be used.
– Although TV shows have been allowed to be recorded at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida again for a few weeks, the fitness rooms and exercise rooms in the building remained closed. The talents were therefore not allowed to train in the WWE Performance Center. The building was only open for the tapings last and the talents were only allowed to enter the rooms when it was their turn. The rest of the time they spent outside the building. We have already reported that the security measures in the Performance Center have been increased and adapted to the knowledge that the world has gained about the corona virus. For example, the actors should wear respirators while they are not in the ring or holding a promo, and every employee is medically examined before they can enter the performance center or a closed set. You also film the matches in waves, point out hygiene rules such as washing your hands and follow the “social distancing” guidelines. Neighbors, however, confirm to local journalists that the talents tend not to stick to the guidelines. For example, the “Social Distancing” guidelines should often not be adhered to and masks are probably only worn by a few people.
– According to Dave Meltzer, Sami Zayn is one of the talents who availed himself of the option of whether the current corona crisis should not appear among the tapings at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. This is also the reason why the reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion has not been seen in the ring since “WrestleMania 36”. The script for the “Friday Night Smackdown” edition of April 24 actually intended Zayn to appear, but the 35-year-old ultimately decided not to travel. We have already reported that both WWE and AEW and Impact Wrestling have left the talents free to go to the shows in times of the corona crisis. In addition to Roman Reigns and Kyle O’Reilly, Zayn is one of the few WWE talents who took advantage of this opportunity.
