Formula 1 | Ferrari, Sainz asks for less vulnerability: the desire of Carlos

Carlos Sainz, in his analysis to the microphones of the official Ferrari website, asks the team for less vulnerability: “This was a tough but positive weekend for me, made up of a good qualifying and an attacking race in which I gave my all. I managed to get a perfect start despite starting from the dirty part of the track and I pulled the braking off in turn 2 taking all the necessary risks to overtake Lando on the outside and take the first position. Unfortunately, after a few laps we started to suffer from graining on the tires and I couldn’t keep the lead for longer as I had to stop early for the pit stop. After the break we did a great job managing the Hard tire while we were in traffic, pushing when we had a clear track and in doing so we secured third place without too many worries. But then the rain came and everything got complicated. With the Hards I had in the car it was immediately clear that we would have to stop to switch to the intermediate tires and together with the team I think we hit the right moment to stop, confirming ourselves in third position. It is a podium finish and we can only be happy about it, but as a team we have to analyze what can be done better to be sure that next time a Ferrari is in the lead and that we will be less vulnerable than our rivals. There is time before the next race and we will prepare as best we can in this respect as well. “
