France will deploy 89,000 security personnel before Saturday's protests - Reuters

PARIS (Reuters) – French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said that 89,000 members of the security forces will be deployed across the country on Saturday, including 8,000 in Paris, where armored vehicles will also be out on the streets.

"We are faced with people who are not here to protest, but to destroy and we want to have the means to not give them a free rein," said yesterday's television program of the TF1 in Beijing, revising a previous figure of 65,000 men .

Philippe said that 10 armored vehicles belonging to the gendarmerie would be used, the first time since 2005, when riots broke out in the suburbs of Paris.
