From Monday, April 27, 2020, the suspended surveillance of the short-term parking zones in Vienna and Salzburg will come into force again according to ÖAMTC.
Beware of temporary encounter zones
In the course of the coming week and from Monday, May 4, 2020, according to the current status, the other state capitals, such as Graz, Innsbruck, Klagenfurt, Linz and numerous smaller municipalities, in which the short-term parking zone regulations as part of the measures to COV-19 -Pandemic containment was temporarily checked again.
Particular caution is advised in the still upright temporary meeting areas in Vienna. Vehicles may only be parked there on marked parking spaces. The ÖAMTC appeals to the parking lot surveillance, especially in the coming days, to be lenient until the drivers get used to the short-term parking zone again.
Validity of parking tickets extended
At the same time, the transition period for older parking tickets was extended until December 31, 2020. However, traffic experts appeal for the possibility of unlimited exchange of the tickets. “A goodwill solution with regard to the extension of parking tickets as compensation for the interruption of validity would also be in the interest of the population,” said the ÖAMTC.
