The organizer explains the short-term trade fair cancellation with the industry-wide problems in connection with the corona pandemic. The decision to cancel GIMS 2022 was made in the best interests of both automobile manufacturers and automobile fans. The direct and indirect problems related to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic left no alternative. The organizers list the ongoing travel restrictions for international exhibitors, visitors and journalists. On the other hand, have indirect problems of the pandemic, like that Semiconductor shortage, has set new priorities for automakers that they must resolve first. These issues recently resulted in multiple cancellations which resulted in the final confirmation of the show’s postponement.
