A recent investigation revealed that several organizations dependent on the Society of Jesus have benefited, in recent years, from the generosity of billionaire George Soros, a man whose stated purpose is incompatible with the charism of the sons of Saint Ignatius.
S. J .: “Society of Jesus” or “Soros and associated Jesuits”? This question is worth asking after reading the investigation conducted by journalist David Ramos, published on September 7, 2020 by the Spanish-language Catholic news site, ACI Prensa.
Indeed, three charitable organizations dependent on the Society of Jesus have received more than one and a half million US dollars from the Society in recent years. Open Society Foundations (OSF), a network of foundations headed by George Soros.
Specifically, $ 402,577 was donated between 2016 and 2018, to two charities whose objective is “to support the rights of migrants” in Latin America, the Caribbean and Spain.
But the Jesuit charity that received the most funding from the sulfurous billionaire is Jesuit Worldwide Learning (JWL), which raised $ 1.3 million between 2016 and 2018. The latter also mentions OSF as one of its main partners on its digital portal.
In total, the magnanimity that Jesuit foundations have enjoyed from the OSF amounts to $ 1,702,577 over the past four years.
However, the OSF, founded in 1993, funds numerous campaigns around the world in favor of abortion, LGBTQI and “gender” ideology. And Soros’s desire to spread abortion in all countries is no secret to anyone.
But this is not all. In 2016, Soros spent $ 1.5 million to cover up the scandal of Planned Parenthood, when the latter was accused of selling organs and tissues of aborted babies in their establishments.
ACI Prensa contacted the three Jesuit foundations regarding their ties to George Soros and their level of knowledge about his pro-abortion program.
The only one that deigned to respond was the JWL, on September 5, 2020, trying to justify the use of the funds received: “only 3% (of young migrants) have access to higher education”, therefore, the JWL With his presence, “he offers a ray of hope to young people who aspire to transform their communities.”
Is this an effect of Covid-19? The money seems to have no more smell for the children of Saint Ignatius, at least if it comes from George Soros. Last July, it was announced that the current Archbishop of Santiago de Guatemala, Monsignor Gonzalo de Villa y Vásquez -of the Society of Jesus- had been linked to the Soros Foundation Guatemala, an organization that ceased its activities in 2011.
When questioned about it by ACI Prensa, the prelate played the card of good faith: “at that time I was not aware, or at least I do not remember,” he explained awkwardly.
Our Lord warned us: “You cannot serve God and Mammon.”
