Georgian stopper Kobouri and forward Holík strengthened with Karviná

Karviná’s staff was strengthened by stopper Davit Kobouri. The 23-year-old Georgian transferred from Dinam Tbilisi. Already on Wednesday, the last team in the first league table brought forward Lukáš Holík, who last worked in the second league Opava. The Silesians informed about it on the club’s website.

This is Kobouri’s first foreign engagement. “He is a player with excellent parameters, a quality football player, also a left-handed man. The most important thing will be his acclimatization in the team and on the field. After all, our league is different from the Georgian one,” said Karviná Sports Director Lubomír Vlk.

“Apart from the central defender, I sometimes catch up on the left edge of the defense. I’m glad I’m here, I like the club,” said former Georgian youth representative Kobouri, who won two titles with Dinam Tbilisi.

Twenty-nine-year-old Holík has been working in Opava since the summer of 2020. He remained in the club even after relegation to the second league, but after the autumn part he terminated his contract with him and signed up for Karviná.

In addition to his native Zlín and Opava, he also played for Prague’s Dukla in the past. In the highest competition, he played 132 matches with a balance of 12 goals and 12 assists. “He had numbers in Zlín and Dukla, the same in Opava. Lukáš is a productive, goal-playing player. I believe he will definitely help us in the spring.” said coach Bohumil Páník, who already led Holík in Zlín.

“We talked together. I trust Coach Master. I also owe him a lot of things. One of the factors (coming to Karviná) was the coach.” Holík stated. “Lukáš is an honest and experienced football player. In addition, he will renew his cooperation with coach Páník, he worked for them in Zlín. I believe that he will be a great reinforcement for us.” added Wolf.

Karviná, as the only team, did not win in the 19 autumn rounds and is losing six points to the penultimate Teplice.
