Global disruption paralyzes Instagram for hours

Shortly after midnight (Central European Time), Instagram was struggling with global disruptions. A blank desktop website and a faulty app bothered users around the world. The app started as usual, but only with videos that are already in the smartphone’s cache.

“Cannot connect to the server” and “Sorry, an error has occurred” are the error messages that users received when trying to use the app.
