Gold prices are down by 1.4% to $ 1208.60 an ounce

Egyptian Arab Affairs: Gold closed the session on Friday, the last session of the week down, with the continued pressure of the dollar against most major currencies and despite the decline in US stocks.

Gold futures for December delivery fell $ 16.50, or 1.4 percent, to $ 1208.60 an ounce, the lowest closing since October 10th and a weekly loss of about 2 percent for the second consecutive year.

At 18:31 GMT, the dollar index, which measures the performance of the greenback against a basket of major currencies, rose 0.20% to 96.91 points.

The precious metal continued to be under pressure after the Federal Reserve's interest rate stabilized unchanged with expectations of another increase at next month's meeting.
