A few weeks ago, DJI presented the latest on Mavic 2 which comes in two versions: Pro and Zoom, the main difference is the level of the camera and the price, 1249 € for the Zoom and 1499 € for the Pro at the official price on the DJI store.
As a reminder, the Mavic 2 has a new, more aerodynamic design to limit drag and gain autonomy (31 minutes of flight and a top speed of 72 km / h). The operation is quieter and the hull incorporates additional sensors on its sides to provide 360-degree obstacle detection.
The APAS system now benefits from 8 sensors to evaluate the position of the drone in relation to obstacles and automatically bypass or shut down before impact. Dji evokes an Active Track system (tracking of objects) no longer based on 2D images but on a 3D cartography combined with a trajectory prediction algorithm: the drone can therefore anticipate the race of a vehicle and compare it with its position and that of possible obstacles to automatically find the ideal clear path to follow his goal.
The radio control system is evolving somewhat: it takes control of Mavic Pro and now inherits the removable joysticks for easy transport. The video transmission called OcuSync 2.0 is announced as more stable and powerful, based on automatic rocking frequencies in the 2.4 to 5.8 GHz bands. For example, Dji evokes the possibility of enjoying a 1080p image at 8 km away.
UAVs always ship a micro SD port to expand the internal storage capacity of 8 GB and connect everything to the Dji Go 4 application to take advantage of the advanced features of shooting, including Hyperlapse or Dolly Zoom ( exclusive for Mavic 2 Zoom).
For both devices, Mavic 2 Pro is equipped with a Hasselblad camera with a 1-inch CMOS sensor capable of handling 10-bit color (HNCS). The module is stabilized by a three-axis cockpit. The drone will be able to take 20 megapixel photos, videos in Ultra HD 4K at 30 fps. Everything is compatible with HDR with a dynamic range of 14 stops.
the Mavic 2 Zoom for its part offers a smaller photo sensor (1 / 2.3 inches) of 12 megapixels, but enjoys a 2x optical zoom. It also has a special feature to deliver 48-megapixel shots by automatically combining 9 different photos in one shot.
Offered at the official price of € 1249, the Mavic 2 Zoom is offered to Gearbest a € 880 with the code GB-THZOOM2 and free shipping. the Mavic 2 Pro it's at $ 1337 instead of € 1499 with the code GBMAVIC2. Note: the power connector is American standard, but a simple 1 € adapter will solve this problem.
