Grizzlies training expelled after 2 flagrant, tech

The Memphis Grizzlies guard Grayson Allen was expelled from the NBA Summer League match on Thursday night against the Boston Celtics in Las Vegas after collecting two flagrant fouls in seven seconds.

Both tough fouls were against Celtics debutant Grant Williams and brought Allen 9 minutes, 12 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.

Allen, 21st place in the 2018 NBA draft, played last season with the Utah Jazz as a newcomer and was part of the job that sent Mike Conley to Utah.

Allen also picked up a technical foul first in Thursday's game, and one in his championship debut in the summer with Memphis on Sunday.

At various points during his four-year career at the Duke, Allen was reprimanded for advancing opponents, a habit that led to a suspension of a game in 2017 and to Allen who was stripped of his Blue Devils captain.

Allen's expulsion was the third of this year's summer championship, later San Antonio Spurs forward Drew Eubanks on Monday and Los Angeles Lakers ahead Nick Perkins on Wednesday.
