Sony denies the rumors and claims that the author of the leak of The Last of Us 2 has no connection with either Sony or Naughty Dog. Well almost, since the studio is suspected of having introduced a security vulnerability on its servers.
One of the most anticipated titles on PS4 looks like disaster for Sony and Naughty dog. After announcing the postponement of The Last of Us 2 to an unknown date due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Sony finally decides to release it on June 19. The editor will have tried everything, but will not be able to contain the leaks which reveal a good part of the plot, the main interest of the game. As gameplay videos, cutscenes and scenario of The Last of Us 2 spread on internet, we imagine that an employee is at the source of the leak. The rumors implicate the working conditions at Naughty Dog, they would have pushed one or more employees to organize a massive flight to take revenge.
The business takes a new turn with the revelations of Sony to our colleagues of Polygon. The investigation is still ongoing, but the company says it has identified the source of the leak. The authors have no connection whatsoever with Naughty Dog or Sony.

The Last of Us 2 leak: Naughty Dog reportedly provided access to its data servers
Several concordant sources evoke a security breach on Naughty Dog’s servers. @Pixelbutts explains on Twitter that all the titles in the studio receive a final patch which contains identifiers allowing them to recover data. Access which unfortunately is not limited to the files necessary for the game, but gives access to all its data. Information confirmed by Jason Scheier, a former Kotaku journalist. According to relatives of Naughty Dogs, the studio was indeed the victim of a security breach that he himself created. Access was cut off on April 30, too late to prevent leaks from The Last of Us 2.
