More than 10 years ago Valve had given up responsibility for developing a new game from the legendary saga. Half-Life to Arkane studios, creators of Dishonored. His name was Half-Life 2: Episode 4, but it was canceled before it could be ready. We can now take a brief look at it.
Arkane worked on the game between 2006 and 2007, and after being canceled, Valve kept its existence a secret, or at least tried to keep it, given that its title was leaked years ago as a mysterious project canceled by Valve. The people of Noclip, a YouTube channel dedicated to creating fascinating documentaries about video game history and development studies, is working on a new documentary series about Arkane, where it appears they will reveal details of what may have been. Episode 4.
In the documentary trailer we can see a brief moment in which a character, perhaps Gordon Freeman himself, is fighting against a zombie.
Of Episode 4 very little is known. The game’s history would have taken us back in time, given that it unfolded before the events of Half-Life 2: Episode 2, as revealed by Marc Laidlaw, writer of the saga Half-Life and former Valve employee. Going back in time would have “limited the creative aspect of the game,” something that would have been a problem, according to Ladilaw, but which appears not to have stopped Valve after his departure, given that the plot of the new Half-Life: Alyx it also unfolds in the past.
Episode 4In addition, it developed in the Ravenholm village and included zombies and other macabre beings. However, the project was canceled and never saw the light of day, but luckily fans of the saga will be able to get a glimpse of what could have been in this documentary. You can watch the trailer below and a few more seconds of Half-Life 2: Episode 4 right at the end of the videor.[via[víaPolygon / GamesRadar]
