In Veracruz The Alamo municipality Police Director, identified as Guillermo “N”, along with six other local security elements, was arrested.. All of them linked to the criminal organization Grupo Sombra and for crimes of kidnapping and extortion, as well as carrying arms for the exclusive use of the Army and drug trafficking.
The arrests occurred after a security operation in that area, led by the Secretary of State Public Security, Hugo Gutiérrez Maldonado, together with elements of state security, military, marine and members of the National Guard.
The director of the Alamo corporation, along with the six arrested police officers have alleged Links with Agustín “N”, alias the “Guty” or commander “Jaguar” of the criminal group Sombra, dedicated to drug trafficking, with a presence in that entity since 2017 and made up of members of the Gulf Cartel.
The Ministry of Public Security of Veracruz reported that, at the time of the capture, Guillermo “N” acknowledged having received large sums of money as bribes, by the criminal association, while Daniel Antonio “N”, Martín “N”, Filiberto Alejandro “N”, Pedro “N”, José Israel “N” and Francisco Javier “N” –the other six detainees– accepted their participation in various perpetrators in the Alamo area.
Also, during the arrests, the alleged criminals were assured of long and short weapons, chargers, useful cartridges, tactical vests, drugs and vehicles, according to the SSP from Veracruz.
The mayor of Alamo, Jorge Vera, thanked public to the Secretary of State Security for the operation that culminated in these arrests.
“Here they were carrying out an operation, in such a way that the security in Álamo Temapache becomes normal, a tranquility. My thanks to the governor for making these moves. The good judge begins with their home, and we are in the best position for them to develop the security programs they have undertaken with freedom and all the facilities ”.
Shadow Group in Veracruz
Formed in the first half of 2017, Grupo Sombra is here to stay in Veracruz. Established in municipalities such as Tuxpan, Poza Rica, Coatzintla and Tihuatlán, drug traffickers threatened police and criminals alike: “Nobody can get into our territories”.
