Hemsö buys land in Barbarby

Hemsö has previously been awarded a land grant for care-related activities in connection with Barkarbystaden. Hemsö is now acquiring the land, which allows a total of 42,000 square meters of building rights from Järfälla municipality.

The acquisition means that the planning for Barkarby Hospital as well as the family center, nursing homes and other housing can now enter a new phase.

Järfälla municipality has adopted the detailed plan for the area in question. The land is located in the middle of the district in immediate connection to the upcoming public transport node with metro, commuter train and bus junction at Barkarby station. 1.4 million inhabitants will reach the site within 30 minutes. The acquisition of the land takes place in two stages, which in the first phase are planned for a nursing home, family center and other housing. In 2022, the second part of the land where Barkarby Hospital is planned will be acquired.

– The focus for the hospital is collaboration between region and municipality to create a close care and care. The goal is to enable easily accessible and person-centered care and care for citizens. Digitization is also changing where and how care is conducted, and this is of course something that affects the design of the building. Overall, we believe that Barkarby Hospital will contribute to a boost for the public health of the residents, says Anders Lövefors, project developer at Hemsö.

The nursing home is planned to have around 60 places, the hospital is planned to contain an emergency room with access to both X-ray and laboratory services, health center, specialist clinics, geriatric inpatient care, outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation.
