Costa Rica, October 16, 2020– Picking up exactly where the Galaxy Fold left off, the Galaxy Z Fold2 continues to rely on Samsung’s best folding innovations. Combining the power of its larger screen coverage, immersive main screen, and versatile camera system, the device offers a wide range of productivity and entertainment experiences that defy expectations. All of these innovative features are made possible by one critical feature: the expanded Flex mode.
From multiple hands-free viewing options to professional content creation, here’s everything you need to know about the enhanced Flex mode on the Galaxy Z Fold2.
Two screens, a perfect experience
Bringing more versatility to the cover and main display, Flex mode turns the Galaxy Z Fold2 into a device that can help you get things done on the go.
The device comes with a larger 6.2-inch front screen, offering quick access to notifications and ample space for general tasks, such as viewing and replying to messages. Suppose you want to see a video link that your friend sent in detail. Just tap the link and view the content directly on the cover screen in portrait and landscape modes.
Flexible mode allows you to view content without interruption, even when you open the device. The feature automatically brings all the apps that open on the home screen to the home screen, so you don’t have to waste time and start over.
Keep your hands free
Whether you’re attending a virtual meeting in a cafe or following a video recipe in the kitchen, the Galaxy Z Fold2 can free your hands and offer more flexibility when multitasking. The concealed hinge allows the cover and main display to remain open at various angles without support, offering a wide range of viewing options for all types of situations.
When you unfold the Galaxy Z Fold2 slightly and lay the device on a surface, you can view the content on the cover screen without using your hands. If you need more space to work, simply open the device wider to switch from the cover to the main screen. In this mode, the upper half of the main screen will play the video, while the lower half will display the video controls.
For a more immersive entertainment experience, all you have to do is fully unfold the device. Featuring the infinity Infinity-O display with a 120Hz refresh rate, the fully unfolded 7.6-inch main display offers realistic and dynamic images. With dual high-dynamic speakers, you can enjoy incredible sound quality while watching your favorite content.
Shoot with maximum flexibility
When used with Flex mode, the cameras on the Galaxy Z Fold2 become even more powerful, allowing you to shoot exactly the way you want. The flexibility enabled by the feature allows you to maximize the advantage of the rear camera, even when you’re taking selfies. Just turn on the camera app on the cover screen and tap the Selfie button on the rear camera. You can then unfold the device to take selfies with the rear camera while using the external screen as a viewfinder.
The Capture View mode on the Galaxy Z Fold2 lets you view photos and videos while shooting. The feature works with Flex mode, so you can see up to five of your recent shots in the lower half of the main screen, while the next view of photos remains.
Collaboration between subject and photographer is the key to creating dynamic images. Dual display on the Galaxy Z Fold2 makes it easy, showing an image preview on the cover and on the main screen. The subject can adjust their pose based on the view on the cover screen, while the photographer can find the perfect composition with the larger view on the main screen. Dual View also works with video and can be activated in Pro Video mode.
Whether you’re taking part in the latest dance challenge or filming a vlog, auto-framing on the Galaxy Z Fold2 can help you create content on your own, wherever you are. It keeps your subject in focus, even when in motion, so you don’t have to worry about being in the frame when you’re shooting alone.
