How to Report to the Police Asking for Peaceful Money When a Ticket is Manual

The police have asked the public to report rogue officers who violate procedures manual ticket such as asking for peace money or extortion. How to report extortion can be to the complaint number 0821-7760-6060 (WhatsApp).

This number is a complaint service that was just launched by Polda Metro Jaya on Tuesday (16/5). Kapolda Metro Jaya Inspector General Pol Karyoto said this service is to provide space for people who are involved in a case and want to complain and ask for legal certainty.

However, Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Director Kombes Pol Latif Usman explained that the WhatsApp number can also be used for manual ticket extortion complaints.

“Please supervise our members in the field in taking action against violations (tickets), if extortion is reported immediately,” Latif said, as reported by Antara.

Latif said manual ticketing would create direct contact between the offender and the officer, raising concerns about fraud.

He said there needed to be manual oversight, including from the public.

“That’s why we, the leadership, need supervision assistance from our members in taking action, so that there are no things that are outside of our authority, violate the procedural rules in ticketing,” he said.

Polda Metro Jaya is now reintroducing manual ticketing after this procedure was abolished last year because they wanted to optimize ETLE’s electronic ticketing.

Tickets have been manually enforced in Jakarta since last month. This mechanism is intended for action in areas not covered by ETLE cameras.
