Hundreds of migrants arrested in southern Mexico – dpa

Pijijiapan (dpa) – In the south of Mexico, police have arrested hundreds of migrants from Central America. On the road between Mapastepec and Pijijiapan, 371 people were captured, the immigration office confirmed. The migrants were taken to an immigration office in the Tapachula district to verify their residence status. Every year, hundreds of thousands of people flee violence and poverty in Central America and try to enter the United States. The US government does not want to let them into the country.
