The Spanish and Catalan platform has called a rally on Thursday for the 40th anniversary of the Constitution to defend and honor the Magna Carta. The event started at 11:00 in Plaza Urquinaona and will cover the entire Via Laietana until reaching Plaza Antonio López.
There will be speeches by Carlos Carrizosa, spokesman for citizens in Parliament; Fernando Carrera, youth coordinator of the Catalan Civil Society, and Javier Megino, vice president of Spain and Catalans.
Until now, the deeds in Catalonia on the 40th anniversary of the Constitution have been wounded. That same Thursday, the Mossos d'Esquadra accused a group of anti-fascists in Girona who wanted to prevent a concentration of the Borbónica and Vox groups in Plaza 1 de Octubre.
On the other hand, students at the Liceu Conservatory yesterday blocked the central hall of the auditorium to avoid access by the citizen's leader, Albert Rivera; the head of the opposition in Catalonia, Inés Arrimadas, and the mayor of Barcelona, Miquel Valls. Rivera denounced action through social networks: "This is the face of nationalism in the face of democracy".
At the same time, Adrià Carrasco, a member of the CDR of Esplugues de Llobregat and exiled in Belgium, interrupted a speech by the Spanish Foreign Minister, Josep Borrell, with the cries of "La Constitución es una farsa".
