The court ruled that Espen Andersen-Broten, 38, who was born and lives in Norway, could not be prosecuted for having paranoid schizophrenia.
Andersen-Broten pleaded guilty in court. He said he did so because he wanted to be reincarnated in a better place in the next life. Both the prosecutor’s office and the lawyer called for him to be given compulsory psychiatric treatment.
It has already been reported that in October 2021, Andersen-Broten in Kongsberg, about 70 kilometers from the capital Oslo, was killed by a gun and a knife until he was arrested by police.
At the time, PST said Andersen-Broten had released a video in 2017 stating that he was a Muslim who was aware of his mission but did not see a threat of crime because of the vague content in the recording.
